Timothy Scott
Timothy Scott was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1950. While in New York he attended the Juilliard School of Music and Sarah Lawrence College, studying cello with Maurice Eisenberg. After touring the United States as cellist with Harry Chapin for two years, Tim moved to Portland to become a member of the Oregon Symphony. During the 30 years he has lived in Portland, Tim has been active as a member of many chamber music ensembles, summer festivals, and as soloist with the Oregon Symphony, the Columbia Symphony and the Marylhurst Symphony.
Tim also plays viola da gamba and is often heard on that instrument in chamber music concerts and as soloist in the Bach Passions.
